I have to say that the conditions were ideal for all of us writers - as they would be for any painters, photographers, poets: in short, any artist in search of perfect peace and tranquillity. The grounds are magnificent: a real inspiration. And the welcome by Alan was warm and generous. The accommodation was superb and the food equally so. We felt very pampered indeed as the fire was lit for us every evening in the cosy drawing room. We were able to leave the work behind and relax over a glass of wine before dinner. Highly recommended, and ideal for those in search of an idyllic space in which to be creative.
